PATIENT PORTAL FAQS
WHAT IS THE PATIENT PORTAL? Our patient portal is a safe, secure, Strashun Pediatrics-hosted web site that allows parents to access certain parts of their children’s medical records. The Patient Portal is accessible through computers, tablets, and smart phones.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO PARENTS? You can enjoy quick, easy access to important parts of your children’s medical records. You can see, print, and download this information at your convenience, without having to call the office. You can keep track of important dates, milestones, prescriptions, immunizations, and lab results, from anywhere you have internet access.
IS THERE A COST TO ACCESS THE PATIENT PORTAL? No. Account creation and registration are free. Once you’re fully registered, you can access your children’s medical records as often as you like for free.
WHAT PARTS OF MY CHILDREN'S MEDICAL RECORDS CAN I SEE AND PRINT AT HOME? You can access information on Allergies, Diagnostic Tests, Growth Charts, Immunizations, Prescriptions, and Patient Notes for both well and sick visits. We continue to add more access and interactive features all the time.
CAN I REQUEST SCHOOL AND CAMP FORMS ON THE PORTAL? Yes! In most cases school and camp forms can be sent directly to your Patient Portal account. While there may be a charge for you to pick up your forms from our office, when you make your request and download them through our Patient Portal, they’re totally free!
CAN I PRINT MY CHILD'S IMMUNIZATION RECORDS AND SUBMIT THEM TO SCHOOLS, CAMPS, AND DAY CARES? Yes. You can print the immunization records yourself, any time you want, and submit them directly. Printing the records for yourself is easy, convenient, and free.
CAN I USE THE PORTAL TO REQUEST PRESCRIPTION REFILLS? Yes! Just click on the link, follow the instructions, and make your request. It's that easy!
IS YOUR PATIENT PORTAL REALLY SAFE AND SECURE? Absolutely. We’ve invested in a secure server and a secure web domain (denoted by the s in the https:// portion of our Patient Portal’s URL) to ensure the safety and confidentiality of your children’s medical records. Our two-step registration process, in which every Patient Portal account is individually verified by one of our staff members before activation, and in which every account receives its own secure password, also ensures that all access to medical records is both accurate and appropriate.
CAN MORE THAN ONE PARENT CREATE A PATIENT PORTAL ACCOUNT (e.g. for divorced, separated and/or non-related parents?) Yes. That's one of the reasons we tie portal access to specific email addresses - so that individual parents or caregivers can each have access to the same children's records.
HOW DO I CHANGE MY PASSWORD? Once you've signed in to The Portal, click on the My Account tab. When your account information appears, you'll see a box for New Password and one for Repeat New Password. Type the password you want in both boxes, then click the Submit button at the bottom, and your password will be changed.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I FORGET MY PASSWORD? No problem! Just click on the “Forgot Password” link at the bottom of the Sign In page, and you’ll be able to request a new password. Feel free to give our office a call if you have any questions.
HOW DO I ADD MY NEW BABY TO MY PORTAL ACCOUNT? Just give us a call in the office, and we can take care of that in a minute or two. That's all!
IS ACCESS TO THE PORTAL MEANT TO REPLACE AN OFFICE VISIT? Not at all. This is just another means of communication between you and our office.
Giving you access to your children’s medical information in your home, on your own time, helps you stay informed, and also helps us work together to provide the best possible care for your children. If you have any other questions, please give our office a call at 314.991.1217, and we'll be happy to help you.
